no sound

I have windows xp and all of a sudden i have no sound. i checked m
speakers and everything is connected. my headphones are not workin
also.

this is driving me CRAZY............

I'm really not computer smart so any help will be appreciated

Crazy, go to Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices>Volume. Mute box should
not be checked. Click on Advanced and
look for any checked mute boxes. Uncheck. Sliders should be up at least
half way. Check box Place Volume Icon in Taskbar so you can easily adjust
volume.
