I just installed XP on my computer. I put the drivers on, and my sound worked
perfectly. Then, while installing other programs (Adobe Photoshop, Windows
Media Player 10) the sound stopped working. Now when I go to Control
Panel/Sound all options under the Audio Tab are grayed out, and unchangable.
In the Hardware tab, it says my soundcard is working properly. I tried to
reinstall the drivers, but the computer locked up.

Audio lead unplugged?

No, it's still plugged in.
I just started reading about problems between Soundblaster Sound cards and
XP, so that may have something to do with it.

Uninstall the audio driver then reinstall that.Visit the manufacturer's
website to download and install the latest update.
