NO SOUND

I reinstalled XP-Pro and I have no sound. I saw the answers you gave to other
people with the same problem. But I do not have the set-up disk for this
computer and I don't know, but I think the sound card is built in with the
motherboard. So how and where do I find the info I need to download the
proper driver?

When you first run the program after installation, click on the Computer
icon in the right-hand pane, then click on the Summary icon in the
right-hand pane. Scroll down to Motherboard. What is listed for Motherboard
Name and Motherboard Chipset? In addition, scroll down to Multimedia. What
is listed for Audio Adapter?
The information for motherboard name, chipset and audio adapter should help
to point in the right direction for the correct drivers to d/load.

Check Device Manager for the driver/device status. These system information tools may help you identify the chipset / brand of the audio card installed in your system.

Try www.driverguide.com
You do have to register (FREE) then download a small programme called
DriverGuide Tool Kit. When run it will ID any uknown device then find the
driver for you to download. Takes most of the guesswork out of the loop.
