No Sound/No Audio device

I'm running XP, I started my computer today, first it gives me a new device
found message, I did not install any new device. Second my sound/audio device
is gone, I even went to the control panel and device manager and it tells me
no audio device. Any help appreciated.
 
Hi Henny,

Installing the sound card drivers from the CD that came with the system
should help. If you have a HP/Compaq/Dell or any branded system, check the
manufacturer's site for the audio drivers for your configuration.
