no sound (message error code 10)

Does anybody know how to change the permission to get into the settings for the
VIA AC'97 AUDIO CONTROLLER [WDM]. I think i had to go into safemode the last
time this happened but iam not sure

Dan,

If you have admin privileges simply download the package/drivers and install
them. Make note to where they are going - it all depends if you are OEM or
not. But generally after extraction the install will self complete.

If this is not what you are asking, more details please!
