no sound from Windows XP

I have windows XP and there is no sound comming from my speakers
I have seen under device manager' Multimedia audio controller has big
yellow and black "!" mark. I have accidentially deleted SoundMax
program from my computer.

Reinstall the SoundMax drivers. Should be on the m/b drivers CD or the m/b
manufacturers website. Make and model of m/b will help when you're digging.

This poster does lots of "accidental" things. Twenty minutes after
posting his WinXP question here, he also posted it accidentally
in a Win2000 newsgroup.
