- No Sound Failure to Detect -

Hi,
Right now my sound does not work on my computer. I use to
have winMe and Santa Cruz Turtle Beach audio card. I
upgraded to win XP and then i had to install the xp
compatitable drivers. Everything was fine. Now i get no
sound. I have installed the drivers and downloaded the
turtle beach drivers but after i installed it and i still
had no sound. when i opend the turtle beach control panel
it said it couldnt detect turtle beach. next i ran the
diagnostic test. it detected the drivers and the sound
card but DIDNt recongize the software. I dont know what to
do next can someone help me? please email me at

Hi thank you but that didnt help at all. When i go to the
cvolume control in the start menu it says there is no
active mixer available and i need to add one, but i am
uunsure how. thanks again

You could try uninstalling the sound card drivers/software, then
deleting the card itself from device manager. Although this may not
be necessary, I'd reboot, then, if XP doesn't auto-detect the card,
run the Add new hardware wizard, select the soundcard, and then use
the drivers/software you had that were working. This puts a fresh
copy of everything back onto the computerl
