no sound? 82801db/dbm ac 97

PLEASE HELP! I just installed vista home premium and vista detects the sound
card and the driver is up to date but no matter what I do I cannot get any
sound
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You
 
Is your sound card on board if so check bios to make sure on board sound is
enabled.
I am still having trouble trying to configure my microphone.
Vista have changed the settings from the volume icon in the right hand corner.
why don't they leave well alone
