No security cetner after SP2 installed

Installed SP2 from the Microsoft CD to XP-home.

Freeze at the post installation operation.
Need to reset and reboot.

Took about 30-40 minutes for the first reboot.
In the control panel- system- general tab shows SP2.
However, there is no Secruity Center in the COntrol Panel.

Not sure if the SP2 is successfully installed or not.
How can I verify it except the winver.exe and the SP2 in the sbove system
info.

Now after one week. The boot up process still takes about 10-15 minutes.
How can I fix it??
 
Yes, when check on control-panel > system > general, it shows SP2 there.
