A friend got hit by a trojan horse virus on his Dell XP desktop. I
think I've gotten rid of the virus but now right click does not work.
Nothing happens when I right click. Icons, desktop, folders, files,
nothing. I've tried reloading XP (refresh, not clean). I'm trying to
avoid a wipe and fresh install if possible. Any ideas?

Bucky,

Open Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

In the right-pane, double-click NoViewContextMenu and set it to 0 if exists.
Similarly check here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
