no right click in the start menu

I've got the logitech cordless mx duo set, and recently I've come across this problem. I'm unable to right click anywhere in my start menu. When I try to, the menu flickers for a moment as if its about to display something, but then nothing comes up. The start menu is the only place that this occurs on my computer. I'm still able to right click on the desktop, in programs, just not in the menu. I'm running windows XP with all the updates done to both windows and my logitech software. any ideas what the problem might be here?

Hope it's this simple

If no shortcut menu appears and the menu flashes, the Enable Dragging And
Dropping check box has been cleared. This option enables shortcut menus and the
drag-and-drop capability.

To enable the option, right-click the Start button, choose Properties, and then
click Customize. If you're using the default Start menu, click the Advanced tab
and then, in the Start Menu Items box, select Enable Dragging And Dropping.
(If you're using the classic Start menu, the option appears in the Advanced
Start Menu Options box in the Customize Classic Start Menu dialog box.)
