No Right-Click Menu

Here's an odd one for everyone: I have a customer who has had a
particular issue for roughly four months now and evidently they haven't
really cared enough about it to ask us, but today they did and it
stumped us right off the bat. With their Windows XP Pro w/SP2
operating system, you right click on anything in their Start Menu and
nothing shows up (albeit the Start Menu flickers briefly like it wants
something to happen). No right-click menu shows at all no matter what
you right click on in the Start Menu whether you try right clicking an
icon for a program group, or a specfic exe, or a read me file, etc.

Does the right mouse button actually work? Yes.
Can you right click the mouse on everything else in the computer? Yes.
Have you scanned for virii, malware, spyware, etc.? Yes.

Anyone have any ideas?

If your right click menu is missing in the Start Menu...

XP Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button | Advanced tab |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
Click OK | Click OK

Classic Start Menu >>
Right click the Start button | Properties |
Start Menu tab | Customize button |
Scroll down to and Check: Enable dragging and dropping |
Click OK | Click OK

Enable dragging and dropping
[[Prevents users from using the drag-and-drop method to reorder or remove
items on the Start menu. Also, this entry removes context menus from the
Start Menu.]]

Hope this helps. Let us know.

I'm on the phone with the client at the moment, will update as soon as
I finish walking them through this.
