Can anyone pleeeeease tell me why my new computer is causing me so much
trouble when i try to read and rewrite cds and dvds?
Everytime I look on troubleshoot or in books it show the CD Drive properties
with a 5th tab called 'Recording'!
why don't I have this tab???!
My computer supposedly has a cd and dvd writer!
thank you

Is this a brand-new computer?
Is it hand-built or brand-name?
You may need driver software from the drive manufacturer if not a brand name
computer.
Driver software can be downloaded from the mfr website.

its a 'tiny' computer from 'the computer shop'!
usual thing - the man told us it would be dead simple to do cds and dvds!

In this case, you should call the responsible party, either Tiny or the
shop. They either have to admit that your computer lacks this functionality
or else help you get it set up.

XP cd-writing wont work with a DVD writer. Thats why Time /Tiny bundle
the Cyberlink Power2Go suite with their systems. Use that. Not a
brilliant piece of software, but it does what you are trying to do with
ease. Because the Cyberlink s/w is installed, the XP built-in software
is automatically disabled Go and explore the software on the machine
