HELP! My company just gave us new computers running
Windows OS. The trouble is that Outlook Express now will
not show picture attachments. (.jpg's have been sent and
cannot be viewed). Is there a file missing or not
activated? What can we do to get this very important
feature back and running as usual?
Thanks

XP Sp1 changes the default action for attachments. Now,
they are blocked automatically. Open OE, Click Tools,
Options,Security and uncheck the box "Do not allow
Attachments to be saved or opened that might be a virus"

Hi,
Pls have a try:

Start Outlook Express, click on "Tools" - "Options" - "Security", un-check
the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus." and click "OK".

If you have further questions, please feel free to let me know.

OE now by default blocks attachments that *might* contain a virus. It
goes over the top, and means that if you expect attachments you pretty
well have to turn the option off. OE Tools - Options - Security, and
uncheck 'Do not allow attachments to be save or opened. . . '

But make sure that any attachment you get is genuine. These days almost
*especially* if it appears to come from some one you know, unless you
have a separate communication advising it is being sent. And Save
first, scan for viruses and then look
