No Password Option for any ScreenSaver

Hello
I have winxp home with all the current patches. The issue
is that I have no password option for any screensaver.
These symptoms sound like kb article 815424. But I tried
changing the registry and that didn't work. It did work at
one point and the only thing that's changed is upgrading
the the current patches. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Because I need the password option to remote
connect to work with the vpn software.

There are several different registry edits suggested in the article. Did
you try all of them? Most registry changes take effect in the same session
but if policy is involved, you may have to reboot to see any change.

Also... Have you considered contacting MS for the hotfix also mentioned in
the article?
