When I click "New Mail", "Reply", "Forward", "Reply Group", I don't get a
composition window. The place holder icon for it appears on the task bar,
but no window is visible. It isn't behind the main window either. Just
nothing but an icon. Any help? Can "Windows Mail" be reinstalled?

Open only ONE new mail>right click its button in the taskbar>select Move>use
your arrow keys to position it>left click to release.
Now importantly, you must resize the window by dragging the Edges with your
mouse to the size you want it to open>close it with the X>all mail windows
will open
now as you just sized and positioned them to do.
