Hi,
I browsed our good friend google and found this old thread, which
describes likely the same problem I have...
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...01c16531%24a742a490%2419ef2ecf%40tkmsftngxa01
My Dell Inspiron 8600 with XP.SP1 has both LAN and WLAN cards installed.
They both worked perfectly until yesterday... after I rebooted my
network connection kind of disapeared.
Running ipconfig from a prompt ONLY shows "Windows IP Configuration", a
blank line, and returns to the prompt.
Normally I get an ip address from the dhcp, and sometimes I enter it
manually, but none of these works now.
Both NICs shows as working properly in the system device manager. When I
try to uninstall them the system hangs...
I tried to close all processes and services that could perhaps interfere
but no luck.
When I boot up in safe_mode it works perfectly as before, but it's no
solution :|
Any idea how to fix it without reinstalling XP?
Regards,
