My friend's Win-XP system got hosed, so we reformatted the
disk-drive and installed a fresh Win-XP system (from the Dell-supplied
're-installation' CDROM).
When everything was complete, only a single desktop icon was
created (the 'recycle bin'). Normally, there is a 'My Computer',
'Network Neighborhood', 'My Documents', etc.
I created a 'My Documents' icon.
But, the one I can't figure out how create is the REAL
'My Computer' (that has 'Manage' choice and whose 'Properties'
choice appears just like the Control-Panel's 'System' applet does
(i.e. with tabs for 'Computer Name', etc.)
Should this 'My Computer' icon have been created by the install
automatically? More importantly, how can I create such a
desktop icon for the 'My Computer' object?
TIA...
