no MS-DOS programs in windows xp sp2?

I am getting this error message:

16bit windows subsystem
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.net. The system file is not sutiable for
running MS-Dos and microsoft Windows applications. Choose "close" to
terminate the application.

trying to install an older dos game they used to install just fine first
time this has happened.
 
try this, copy autoexec.nt from c:\windows\repair to c:\windows\system32
