hey all,

earlier this week, my cordless mouse started acting a little crazy. it
essentially started right-clicking like mad, so after i tried
unsuccessfully to uninstall the drivers, i did a system restore to the
day before it started acting up. when my system booted up after the
restore, neither the mouse nor the keyboard worked at all. i brought
home a corded mouse and keyboard from work, and that mouse didnt work
either. i was able to boot ino safe mode, so the keyboard does work.
however, as soon as windows launches, the keybard ceases to work. what
is going on, and how can i fix it!

Well as far as why your mouse and keyboard don't work anymore I can't figure
out. However, before you did the restore did you replace your batteries?
Usually in the cordless devices when the batteries start to get low, that is
when they start doing weird things

yep, changed the batteries. what i can't understand is why the (corded)
keyboard works before windows launches, but stops immediatly
afterwards. not good.

The keyboard driver is probably damaged. Open Device Manager, remove
the KB and reboot.
