No matter what I do, I'm an open door

Dan

I think Bill and his staff are brilliant with Microsoft
and company, yet very disappointed with XP... It seems
that practically anyone can access and operate my
computers....
I have 4 computers, and whether networked or not, direct
ip or routed, I'm being hacked to no end...
Hackers have even used my security to boot me out of my
computers...
And now I'm getting emails from Yahoo and Earthlink
stating that I'm spamming their clients....(I have sent
no mail)... I feel that someone is scamming and spamming
using my computer....
I used to use my puters for business use, but have lost
all business info,(financial, names, addresses, phone
numbers, etc.), due to hackers.....
I love computers, but need to secure my system before
this hacking business gets too far out of hand...
Please, if anyone has any info leading to obtaining a
secure computer system, I would appreciate it...

So you're blaming MS for your inability to install and configure a decent
firewall?! The problem is nothing to do with MS but it's a BCAK ir ID-Ten-T
error.

This newsgroup wasn't created for ridicule, Amethyst. And to imply
that someone is an idiot when they are simply naive regarding this
subject is exceptionally immature. Either help or keep your opinions
to yourself.

Dan, I don't profess to know everything concerning the security of
your PC. However, to begin with you might want to check the
parameters of the firewall that comes standard in WinXP.
Additionally, you should stay up to date on MS security patches.

By the way, you'll get better responses from a newsgroup catered to
this topic. Begin with:

microsoft.public.security
microsoft.public.security.virus

Hope this helps.

I wasn't ridiculing anyone. He whines at MS because his computer was hacked.
Is it MS fault he can't implement proper security measures? I hardly think
so...
