No logon at recovery console

Hi,

I need to repair my XP Home installation using the recovery console.

But I cannot logon to the installed system. When the recovery console
starts there is noch choice to log on and the command "logon" only
produces a blank line.

Any suggestions?

Bye,
Michael

The recovery console should give you a prompt on which "Windows" system to
select, normally you only have 1, on your C:\ drive, after that it will ask
for the "Administrator's" password, default on XP Home is not set, so just
hit enter, and you will be presented with a DOS looking prompt - from there,
you'll need to use the appropriate "Recovery Console" command to repair the
problem you are experiencing.

Exactly, I didn't get the choice which "Windows to select".

I solved the problem meanwhile, a chkdsk c: hjelped, after that I got
the 1: C:\WINDOWS.

Bye,
Michael
