Today I woke up to find that I could no longer boot up properly without
seeing that message saying "Windows could not start properly". I have choosed
to start normally, and recent settings that worked and safe mode and none of
them made to the logon screen. The screen just turns black after the Windows
XP screen and all I can do is move my mouse. I have attempted to fix it with
Windows Recovery on my reinstallation CD but that didn't prove to be any help
so I had to install Windows again in a seperate folder. So now I am able to
start Windows but it is now installed twice and I am able to access my
previous Program Files and Previous Windows folder but I am NOT able to
access my previous my documents. This is pretty critical for me seeing how I
have some irreplacable videos that I should of burned weeks ago. Is there
anyway to access these files or even fix the previous installation of Windows?

You can probably fix it but you need to find out what happened. Look in the old installation for it's event logs at C:\WINDOWS\System32\config\SysEvent.Evt (for the system log). Use the new install's event viewer to view the old one logs.
