No Login Necessary?

A friend of mine claims his computer vendor configured his
Win 2000 system so that he does not need to enter a
username or password.

Apparently he simply switches on the machine and the next
thing he knows he's ready to go.

Is this possible?

How please?

What user is he "logged in" as? Administrator? or what?

Assuming you're not joined to a domain, you can do this via the control
panel (security or users and groups applet).

If his system is set up like this, is he logged on as
administrator?

If it's his own personal PC...probably so.
If he's at work and the IT guys know their stuff...
...probably not.
