No LAN or Internet after Vista SP1 install

So why is there no internet or LAN connections after SP1 installed? All LAN
drivers updated. Vista reports drivers are the latest, but cannot connect to
LAN or ADSL modem. ADSL modem says there is no p.c. connected to it. After
roll-back LAN connections come back okay and internet browsing is fine. Done
this twice. Same problem. Any ideas? (ASUS motherboard with 32-bit Vista
Bunsiness, dual-core uP and 4GB RAM).

That happened to me as well. What I did is go into device manager and
remove the network adaptor. Actually there was a second entry in there
that probably caused the problem. Anyway...I deleted both of them and
rebooted. Vista then put back in the one that should be there and all
worked fine after that.

Thanks to both of you for the advice. Haven't tried this yet because
installing SP1 takes a long time. Probably try again over the weekend and
then I will report back.
Regards.
