Vista Beta II has connectivity to local LAN but not to Internet

Have used previous Longhorn/Vista version installs on this same system (IBM
ThinkCenter 2.4 with 512 RAM) without a problem, but with the recent install
of Beta II I can see my local LAN, have joined computer to my 2003 domain,
have even sync time with internet time server, but cannot access the internet
to even activate. My 14 days are almost over. The diagnostics say I have
connectivity, but only to local LAN.
I have Cable modem access and D-Link router. Can see other domain computers,
just not the internet.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

This is probably due to a bug where some routers get confused when Vista
tries to send Internet Traffic thru them.

As a workaround, some users have reported disabling the SPI firewall on
their router has allowed them access.

As a fix, D-LINK may have an updated firmware for the router at their
website.

Hi folks,

I've been wrestling with these same issues. What eventually worked for me
was reconfiguring the ROUTER via its firmware, usually a URL you type in
internet explorer. Do this from within Vista.

Just use the defaults, and let Vista pick them up when you complete the
process.

Hope this helps.
