no internet via winME

dailup, and that works (including the IE browser inside of
AOL). But if I connect to AOL, and then open up IE, or
Netscape, Outlook, or any programs (like updaters) from
the desktop (with AOL minimized), no connections. So I
can't update any programs, etc.

I had a virus about two months back, and Mcaffee was set
to automatically delete, so it deleted a bunch of stuff
(including parts of the Mcaffe program). I tried to
reinstall VirusScan, but now I can't, and I didn't write
down what files were deleted, so I am not sure what I am
missing. What files need to be in place so anything can
connect to the internet via the Desktop? thanks in

Mark,
Conflicts between IE and AOL aren't unusual. You might look through the

You could try repairing IE.
Control Panel> Add/remove programs> IE> Add/remove> repair.
