No Internet connectivity in IE, but Netscape Works

After installation IE 7 will not connect to the net (Internet Explorer cannot
display the webpage). I run "Diagnose Connection Problems" which returns
"go.microsoft.com is not set up to establish a connection on port 'World Wide
Web service (HTTP)' on this computer", followed by a Windows found a problem
that cannot be repaired automatically message.

HOWEVER, Netscape works perfectly (which is how I'm leaving this post).
Also Quicken 2006 Deluxe update works fine and downloads updates without a
problem).

Any suggestions? (32-bit install)
Thanks, Larry

Hi there, I am having the exact same problem, the "computer" appears offline,
and IE will not connect and is giving me the same error, but Firefox connects
normally without problems. I also have some programs which are online and
some that aren't. can't explain it.

Would love some help!

Cheers, Ash.

Experienced a similar problem: Installed Vista Beta 2 on a well-working XP
Pro machine. Several things do not work: Cannot connect to wireless network
(it is seen and reports correct name and good signal strength) Reports
"Windows cannot connect to wireless"). Tried dial-up. Did not work. Sees
provider and hangs at "talking to network".
Hope someone here has found the solution.

Exactly the same issue, I had Firefox and IE7 working fine in XP, installed
Vista RC1 and now IE won't connect and the same error is reported.
Is there any resolution?
