no internet access with VPN dialer

I have a VPN dialer to allow me to connect to my company's
network so that I can work from home. Yesterday I got hit
by spyware and cleaned up (installed MSAS at highest levels
of protection, updated to XP SP 2). The spyware is gone,
but when I turn on the VPN dialer, I can't access the
internet. When I turn off the VPN dialer, I can access the
internet again. Naturally, this is a problem because I
can't get to my company's network throug the VPN anymore.
Is there any way that I can fix this while still running
MSAS? Thanks.
 
Did you have to do work to reestablish the Winsock LSP's after cleaning the
spyware?

I suspect that you will need to reinstall the VPN client software. There
shouldn't be any intrinsic conflict, but spyware removal can disrupt the
Winsock LSP stack, and once that is fixed, other software which uses that
stack may need to be reinstalled to function correctly.
