No images in "My Pictures", only icons.

Only icons are showing where images should be in "My Pictures". I have
Windows XP SP2. The thumbnails show up with the icons but no pictures. Thanks
for any help on this.

Do you mean that you can't see the file names?

Open the folder,
1) View > Details
2) View > (Press and Hold Shift) Thumbnails

Are you trying to say that when you set to view "thumbnails" all you see are
icons? If you click the icons, does the image open?

Sounds like you should reset the defaults and start again.

When you click the thumbnail picture icon, the hour glass shows for a couple
of seconds. Nothing happens.

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Press ENTER.

If that does not help, fix the file association settings.

I have this same problem but with Vista. I can see all the icons but the
thumbnails are all the same. I have to open up the picture to see what it
actually is. Help!!
