For some reason i dont have ICS or a firewall service, I looked all
around the groups and cant seem to find anyway of installing it. Its
not in services.msc its not a option to install in window componants.

Any ideas I dont have any third part AV or firewall software.

I have enabled all other services which seem to effect ICS but its
still not installed.

Thanks for any advice i really dont want to reload.

Which version of Windows XP does your computer have?

Original and Service Pack 1 should have the "Internet Connection
Firewall (ICF) / Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" service.

Service Pack 2 should have the "Windows Firewall / Internet Connection
Sharing (ICS)" service.

Are there any relevant messages in eventvwr.msc?

Have you recently removed any spyware or viruses? If so, which ones?

If you have Service Pack 2, try this command:

netsh firewall reset
