no icons or start bar

when i bot xp pro all that i see is my wallpaper, i have
to use the task manager and command prompt to run
programs. ive tried all the basics, sys restore chkdsk
and nothing works. Safemode works perfectly.. Any ideas
how to get back my wondering icons??

Hi

Goto Start>Run type in 'msconfig' (without quotes),
obviously if you haven't got the Start button you can hit
the Windows key and R.

Goto startup tab and uncheck one of the programs, reboot
and repeat this procedure until you find the offending
program.

I too have this problem. I've even reinstalled XP, but
still no icons or task bar. I don't know what I did to
make this happen. Any ideas or solutions would be
greatly appreciated.
