Hi, after starting winXP and logging in, I get nothing on
my desktop (except the wallpaper I used). All my icons
and the start bar is missing. I am able to start in safe
mode and right now I am running virus check. Prior to
that, I did a restore. I also checked msconfig, but that
seems to be in order. Only thing not check is
messenger. What else can I do? Icons and start bar do
appear in safe mode.

Thanks. Jill

Open xp in normal mode (w/o the icons),press Ctrl_Alt_Delete,task mgr opens, select
applications, new task, type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow When the graph starts
install xp cd,exit the info page.When the graph is thru,remove cd,type:CHKDSK C: /
agree to restart, then type:EXIT Restart computer,if this doesnt fix it,then the use
account is corrupted,create a new account,delete old.
