No Icons and Taskbar

When I log on to my Windows Xp System , I don't see my
Icons and TAskbar.
I have tried windows key on the keyboard and Ctrl_esc to
see the start Menu and failed.
When I hit Ctrl + Alt + Del I see the task Manager.
The Icons are shown in Safe Mode.
Tried Increasing the virtual memory from safe mode still
no go.
Please tell me the reason for the problem and solution
 
Right click on desk top. Select 'arrange icons by' then select show icons.
 
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT I FOUND A WAY AROUND IT, FIRST
GO INTO TASK MANAGER THEN TO PROCESSES, FIND EXPLORER.EXE
CLICK ON IT AND CLICK THE END PROCESS BUTTON. THEN GOTO
FILE, RUN NEW TASK, THEN TYPE EXPLORER.EXE AND CLICK OK.
THAT SHOULD BRING THEM BACK UP. REPLY TO ME IF IT WORKS
PLZ
