No Hard Drive found

I got two hard drives in my computer and my xp(oem) was upgrade from
Win98(C:) and xp was installed in d:. But after C drive was failure, so I
removed C drive and put D as master, but I can not boot up. Even when I boot
up from XP cd, and wanted to re-install XP then it shows that no hard drive
was found. But when I connect this h/d to other computer, it shows heallthy.
Can some one help pls.
 
FAT32 drives? When you did the swap did you FDISK and Activate the new C:\
drive?
 
When I boot it up from the win98 boot up disk, and ran FDSK then fdsk can
not find any hard disk as well. But in the BIOS it clear show the disk was
there.
