No email on Vista laptop with wireless to XP PC.

I have just purchased a laptop running Vista Home Premium. Our PC runs XP
and for email on this we use OE6. I am not receiving emails on the laptop
even though it indicates tasks successfully completed when i send and
receive. I have double checked all config settings and they match. When we
upgraded to broadband our ISP gave us a new email address, though we still
use the original dial up address in all comms, the PC has no issues and works
fine. I don't know if that would influence the functioning of the email?
Should I enter the original email address? Or do i have some other settings
wrong. Any help would be great.

If you have both computers accessing the email account, then you need to set
them to leave the messages on the server under Tools | Accounts | Mail |
Properties | Advanced so they can both download the messages. Then set one
of them to delete the messages after so many days, so they don't pile up on
the server.
