No DSL Internet connection.

I installed microsoft spyware and ran the program but
after the installation I was unable to connect to the
internet. I uninstalled microsoft spyware software, still
could not connect to the internet. I used microsoft
wizard to restore my computer settings to an ealier date,
I can now connect to the internet. Why did microsoft
spyware software disabled my internet connection?

You used the program to remove spyware in place on your machine. That
removal disrupted the Winsock LSP stack which helps you connect to the
Internet.

Microsoft has a KB article about this issue:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892350

Which should fix it quite quickly in most cases. In restoring your system,
you've probably reinstated the spyware. I recommend printing out the
article (and the linked-to article, if you are not on XP SP2) and redoing
the scan and remove operation, followed by the repair steps from this
article.
