'no disk in drive' error message on bootup xp pro

this message always appears as xp starts. it is persistant, reappearing
several times after it is deleted before finally staying gone.

does anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it?

Start, Settings, Taskbar and Start Menu... click on Start Menu tab... click
on Customize...

Click on "Clear"
 
thanks cari, but unfortunately that didn't work. do you or anyone else have
any other suggestions?
