No disk in Drive E

xpnovice

Hi,

Don't know if this is the correct forum for this question, however here
goes.

When insert a disk, DVD or Audio into my DVD drive (Drive E) all seems to
function ok, the lights activate ete.
but then I get the following error message "No Disk In Drive E".

I have gone through the whole diagnostic program in XP but it tells me
everything is ok, drivers etc.

Any suggestions as to what the problem may be would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

Remove the disk from the CD drive and reboot your PC
Now reinsert the CD/DVD and see if it takes. See below for more info on this problem
CD-Rom - Incorrect Content

When you view the contents of a CD-ROM in Windows Explorer, you can see the name of the CD-ROM in the left pane, and the folders are displayed in the right pane. However, after you remove the CD-ROM and insert a different CD-ROM, the right pane may still display the folders from the first CD-ROM even though the left pane correctly displays the name of the new CD-ROM.

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods: Manually refresh Windows Explorer by pressing F5 or by clicking Refresh on the View menu in Windows Explorer. Or do not use Folder view in Windows Explorer
