No Dial-up after XP reinstall...

I simply want to install whatever is needed to operate
the dialup function on my computer.
Background: After a recent HDD Crash, I was forced to
re-install Windows XP (Pro). However, upon completion of
the re-installation, I discovered to my horror that my
sysem had been configured strictly for operation on
a "broadband network"!
(I'm not now--nor have I ever been--a subscriber to
such a network.)
Although, I have an installed, functional modern for
dial-up, the new XP configuration does NOT permit me
access to the moderm, nor to the "Dial-up" facility at
all.
After doing a scan of my system, all the needed
elements are present and recognized by the system.
However, it still will not allow me to use Dialup, or
even to attempt a re-installation of dialup...
From the reading I've done so far, it appears that
a "Dial-up Adapter" may be needed but missing from my
setup. I've searched my installed version of Windows XP,
the installation CD, and Microsoft's website without
finding a solution...
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Loy

Have you solved the problem yet? I have the same symptoms and can't find a solution either.
