No DHCP assigned IP address

C

Cliff Sanders

My laptop at work will not get an IP address using DHCP.
We use a sonicwall firewall for IP assignments (it is set
for DHCP). This is the third computer that has this
problem. I can manually configure my laptop with an IP
address and everything works fine.

At home I use a Linksys wireless router and my laptop
works just fine either via the wireless or a network
cable plugged into the router. My router at home also use
DHCP to assign IP addresses.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Sounds like it's not a problem with your XP laptop...
I suspect your firewall ahs a problem...check with the
manufacturer

The firewall works fine because the other 60 or 70
computers that get an IP address via DHCP from the
firewall work fine.
