can only run programs form "Task Manager" within the blank
green windows logo screen.
So frastrated. Can anybody help please?

If the blank green windows logo screen is your selected background, right
click the Desktop. In the menu go to "Arrange Icons by...">"Show Desktop
Icons". Click on "Show Icons" if that is not already checkmarked. If it
IS, re-post and someone else will have a solution on how to fix.

Try running the program, "explorer.exe", if its there it should open the
shell (your desktop).

And if that works, run regedit.exe

Open the left pane, explorer style, to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT
\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Highlight, and in the right pane look for Shell - its Data on the same
line should be Explorer.exe
If it is not, double click on Shell and enter Explorer.exe in the edit
box
