No default email client in OE6

Hi all

I have noticed that I cannot click on any web email
address because 'there is no default email program set up
to handle it..
This has not been a problem in the past. Whenever I would
click on an adress it would open up OExpress
automatically. Now I just get multiple IE windows opening
up!

OExpress (vs6) is my ususal email program and it sends and
receives ok. there is a button (in tools/properties)to
press, to 'make OE the 'default email' but clicking it does
not do anything.. it can be clicked again in the next
session..

Stumped.. any ideas?

Type MSIMN.EXE /REG in the RUN box. This sets Outlook Express as the default email client. If this does not help, please post the REG export of this key:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto]

You might also try reinstalling OE.

Tried your first suggestion but it did not work for me..
but your reg key made me look at the section.. It had
a .dll reference which was not in another WK2 system I
looked at.. I replaced it with teh other system's reg
entry and it work fine now..
