Default email program

In the Internet Options Control Panel, I am trying to set Microsoft Outlook
as the default email program so that I can export messages from OE6 to
Outlook. Whenever I set Outlook as the default and go back into Internet
Options, it says that Outlook Express is the default. How can I make Outlook
"stick" as the default? Is there some Registry setting that needs to be
deleted or reset? I've tried starting Outlook with the /CheckClient switch,
but that doesn't seem to do anything either.
