hello,
I started last month to refill on my own the cartridges of my epson c86
and now I have a problem of no color from the red cartridge being
printed even though there is ink in it. the black, yellow, and blue carts
work well. any pointers? this is my second refill and the first one worked fine.

as i have stated many times over. people who buy generic ink and do not
use oem in (in your case epson) exclusively will eventually get a
clogged head. since epson has permanent built in heads your printer is
ruined unless you can somehow get rid of the clog or have epson service
it and that will be as costly as a new printer.

i also published in the past a link to pcworld who tested generic inks.
on some they got a clog and could not even finnish the test. their
conclusion (other than rapid fading and poorer looking results) is that
over time the risk of clogging your print head is high.

go buy a canon ip5200 (on sale with rebate if you can) and be sure to
use oem ink. if you do not need speed that go for a canon ip4200. same
quality results but much slower on photos but same speed on business
documents. when frys has a sale-rebate the ip4200 was about $80.00 and
the ip5200 was $110.00. the ip4200 goes on sale at frys about every two
weeks. the ip5200 far less frequent.

Haven't you heard of proper sentence structure. Come on that's grade 3
stuff. Who would listen to a self proclaimed expert (in every field)
that can't even write (type) correctly.

And this git isn't kidding, when he uses the word 'many' he means
thousands, at least, despite other users opposing his views, in his
eyes only he is right.

You may have a head clog, look for Artthur Entlich's post in this newsgroup, if
you e-mail him he will send you a copy of his Epson cleaning head manual.
He will not charge or spam you. Give him full details of the problem.
Good luck
Tony
