no contact in address book

Hi group,

while writing a new mail to anyone my address get auto complete

but my address book is blank can anyoe please suggest

Hi Sam,

do you mean the "autocomplete" function or the Outlook Address Book?

I have tried this thanks but i get to STage 3 and the 'Outlook Address Book'
book is disabled and so can't be ticked. What can I do?

Either remove and re-add the Outlook Address Book service to your mail
profile, or create a new mail profile and add the OAB service to that
profile.

Thanks for replying. I am not sure how to delete the address book. All the
delete options seem to be greyed out. I have looked at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/197577/en-us and can't seem to see a email
account in the User Accounts. I am a little lost.

I don't see where you mention your Outlook version.

Click Tools>Account Settings>Address Book tab. If you don't see "Outlook
Address Book" there, click New, then "Additional Address Books", select
"Outlook Address Book", click Next, then OK, then FInish. Stop and restart
Outlook.

If you do see "Outlook Address Book", select it and click Remove. Stop and
restart Outlook. Add it back in again. Stop and restart Outlook. See

If you can't remove it, you'll have to use the Mail applet in Control Panel
to create a new mail profile. See this:
