no connection

i have just done a full recovery, but i have to enter passwords and i.p
addresses and also run the istallation disc, which i have tried but it is not
working. will my isp be able to talk me through all this? i naively thought
that i would be able to sitch back on and everything would work ok is this
supposed to happen?

It depends on what you mean by having "just done a full recovery." If
what you did was to press some combination of keys to restore your
brand-name computer to "as it was shipped from the factory" state, and
if that mystery installation disc was something you received from your
ISP, then yes, your ISP can probably talk you through how to resetup
your Internet connection.

yeah it has been wiped completely clean, i had to re-install windows and then
all the drivers, when it was first connected it was all done for me by my isp
and i am now wishing i had paid more attention to what he was doing. i will
give them a call and get some technical assistance now that i know i am on
the right track
