no cd burner detected WMP10

I have a strange problem - when I open the Burn tab in WMP 10, the player
says "The service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because
it doesn't have any enabled devices". Strange thing is - I set the IMAPI
service to automatic in the services snap-in. I also started it without any
problems. Yet it seems WMP doesn't care about this service. If I stop the
service, while leaving it at "Manual", WMP doesn't start it. I also
activated the recording in the recording properties tab of my CDRW drive,
without any success. I can burn using Nero 7 without any probs. It's just
WMP that doesn't recognise my drive as a recording device. Any ideas? Maybe
my drive is not supported by WinXP? I am using plextor 124TS.

So? As I've said, the player complains about the service even if it's set to
automatic, it definitely doesn't help setting it to manual
