No Broadband Internet access via router on home network

I recently networked our 2 computers so they can use our broadband access via
a router. The network works fine, each computer can see and has access to
the other computer's files, etc.

The only thing that doesn't work is the Internet access which worked fine on
a standalone machine.

All cables are plugged properly, the ADSL modem is plugged in the WAN port
of the router, all seems fine.

Can anyone help me configure this properly?

Thanks.

Run the Network Setup Wizard. If it finds the router's shared
Internet connection, tell it to use that. Otherwise, tell it that the
computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools | Internet Options | Connections |
LAN Settings and clear all of the boxes on that screen.

Connect to the router's built-in web server, which is usually at an
address like http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 and make sure
that it's configured properly. If your ADSL service uses PPPoE, enter
the user name and password.

Is the router set to provide IP addresses to the computers through DHCP? Is
the router properly configured for your DSL connection? Is it getting a
public IP address?
