No borders to web on internet - and author permission

I have read on this newsgroup:
Post a link to your homepage, and someone can tell you if extensions are
installed,
and we can also tell you what kind of server your site is hosted on.
Knowing the type of server helps to answer your question.

Here is my URL: http://home.nycap.rr.com/smallfamily/

(1) Last fall the borders disappeared from my web, though my local website
inside of FrontPage is fine. I have not been able to publish; my directory
password is rejected, though it works in the host's member account to make
changes in my account. There is a little note on that FrontPage dialog where
we enter our directory name and password that says: "This operation requires
author permission for (name of server).
(2) Is this ever a firewall problem?
(3) What is author permission?
(4) What is the :80 for?)
(5) Is "Enable FrontPage" the same as using FrontPage Extensions?
(6) Is it normal to have to enable exceptions for FrontPage for the
firewall?

About the time the borders disappeared, the host did or was planning its
move to a new server, though I don't know the exact date of either
occurrence. Just one day I went to take a look at my web and it was
borderless. And it was somewhere around the time of their move.

You are hosted on an Apache server.

The root server has extensions installed
http://home.nycap.rr.com/_vti_inf.html returns the configuration page.
However it appears that there are no extensions on your account because checking for the configuration page
returns page not found.

If you can not log in using the http://home.nycap.rr.com/smallfamily/ address,
have your host repair / reinstall the extensions for your account.

Note: if you publish using ftp:// you will break the extensions.

Thank you, Steve. I used my hosts live chat this evening and asked the
specific question, "Does my account have FrontPage Extensions" (because
sometimes they say yes - sometimes they say no) but was my stipulation when
I opened the account a few years ago. The remote computer looking at my
system assured me that my account does have FrontPage Extensions but handed
me over to our "local" phone numbers.

I thank you for taking a look to reassure me on what I was pretty sure was
so. It is good backup material. Thanks to all you folks who come here every
day and see what trouble we're in.
